Immediate Dentures

man smilingAn immediate denture is a denture you are fitted with immediately upon extraction of your remaining teeth. Despite your best efforts to retain your natural teeth, sometimes it’s in the best interest of your overall health to have some or all of your teeth removed. Although this can be very discouraging, we will help you through the process and help you feel confident and secure again.

What you Should Know about Immediate Dentures

Step one is taking impressions of your existing teeth and gums so that we can create accurate duplicates to place once your teeth have been removed. This removable denture is inserted on the same day that your remaining teeth are removed. We will take measurements and make models of your jaw during a preliminary visit. You will never be without teeth, even during the healing period, but you may need to have the denture relined or remade after your jaw has healed. We will also be monitoring your fit and making adjustments during the post-operative visits.

The most important aspect to immediate dentures is that you can keep your smile the entire time. Throughout the healing process, we work with you to maintain fit and comfort as your mouth heals and your tissues conform. Once you have completely healed and your tissues are stable, we will create a more detailed and precise final restoration denture that fits your healed tissues perfectly.

Our office is pleased to offer a wide variety of options for dentures, including fixed hybrid dentures, partial dentures, complete dentures, and more!
