Teeth Whitening Greensboro, NC
Part of your regular dental cleaning includes polishing your teeth to remove surface stains, and it does a great job, but to truly whiten and brighten your teeth, a professional teeth whitening treatment is needed. Teeth whitening has become one of the most common cosmetic dental procedures because it provides visible results fast! Our team at Phillips Prosthodontics can give you that professional whitening you're looking for in a fast, controlled environment. Having your teeth whitened in our office is safer, faster and more effective than any store-bought alternative. We now offer the KOR Whitening system. We want to share the wonderful benefits of in-office whitening treatment with you!
In Office Teeth Whitening - KOR Whitening System
The KOR Whitening system is a combination of in office and at home whitening trays. A special desensitizer is applied prior to the procedure to virtually eliminate the sensitivity that can come with traditional whitening systems.
The in-office system utilizes a series of applications of 34% Dual Activated Tri-barrel Hydremide Peroxide gel applied under the supervision. It does not require light or laser activation and the in-office procedure takes 1 ½ hours.
KOR Ultra T system is effective on Tetracycline stained teeth. Tetracycline discoloration has always been a challenge because the staining is deep within the structure of the tooth, rather than on the outer enamel. The Ultra T system utilizes a combination of home application and in office applications to achieve amazing results! Check out the KOR Whitening Brochure.
At Home Teeth Whitening
At home whitening uses a tray made specifically to fit your teeth and a concentrated gel, usually carbemide /hydrogen peroxide. The trays are worn at home for 1-2 hours each night, for a period of 2-4 weeks, until you reach your desired lightness.
Store Bought Whitening
If you take a walk down any store aisle of tooth care products, you’re going to see a wide range of products that discuss teeth whitening. All of them that claim teeth whitening power do in fact contain some level of peroxide, which will work, but the whitening power will be very limited. Peroxide is powerful and can cause burning of soft tissue and sensitivity in your teeth. Because of this, store products can’t provide the same concentration we can use in a controlled environment.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does teeth whitening last?
The results of teeth whitening vary depending on individual habits, such as smoking, drinking coffee, tea, or red wine, which can stain the teeth. Regular dental hygiene and touch-up treatments can help maintain the whitening effects, extending the duration from several months to up to three years.
Can anyone get their teeth whitened?
Most people can benefit from teeth whitening, but it may not be suitable for everyone. Individuals with very sensitive teeth, gum disease, or significant dental work such as crowns or veneers may need to seek alternative treatments. It is best to consult with a dentist to determine if teeth whitening is appropriate for you.
